Job Description
The Head of Credit leads the credit function, overseeing the full credit lifecycle from assessment to collections and recovery. They develop risk strategies, manage a team of analysts and recovery specialists, and ensure portfolio quality while supporting the company’s growth objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field (Master’s or professional qualification advantageous)
- • Minimum 8 years progressive credit management experience, including at least 5 years in a senior credit role
- • Proven track record of improving portfolio quality, PAR and NPL performance
- • Strong knowledge of credit risk frameworks, regulatory compliance and loan‑management systems
- • Excellent leadership, negotiation and communication skills

Responsibilities
- • Develop and implement a credit risk strategy aligned with business goals and risk appetite
- • Review and advise on credit policies, products and lending processes
- • Lead Credit Analysts to conduct thorough credit assessments, verification and documentation
- • Approve credit proposals within delegated authority and monitor turnaround times
- • Monitor portfolio quality, PAR and NPL metrics, conduct stress testing and provide actionable recommendations
- • Lead the Debt Recovery Unit, set targets and drive recovery actions through engagement, restructuring and legal processes
- • Develop and update credit policies, scorecards and risk‑rating tools
- • Identify control gaps in the credit lifecycle and promote process improvements
